As the first bio was born, the organic extra virgin

First bio is not only an extra virgin olive oil excellence, it is also the symbol of our sustainability project. Because it comes from crops that we manage in full respect of biodiversity and safeguarding the stability of agrosystems. In fact, we cultivate in a biological regime, we do not support intensive agriculture and mainly produce from traditional olive groves and pluri-search plants. We prefer less productive but capable autochthonous cultivars of the highest quality oils. In our olive groves there are also spontaneous arboreal species such as carob, almonds, oaks and poplars that contribute to keeping our agroecosystem healthy.

Award -winning organic oil

Together with the first PDO, our first bio has always been on the podium of the main national and foreign competitions and has collected many prizes. Constantly present in the prestigious guides on extra virgin olive and several times winner in Biol, one of the main competitions in the sector that compares the best organic oils of the various continents. First PDO and Primo Bio have reached the finals and won at least once all national and international competitions dedicated to oil excellence. From the Oil Oil Competition of Los Angeles to the Feinschmecker Olivenöltest - Oil Award of Zurich. In addition, they are always reported in the main gastronomic guides, such as Slow Food and Red Shrimp.

Tonda Iblea: the variety at the base of the first bio

The variety of Tonda Iblea olives, one of those that gives life to the precious Dop Monti Iblei, is typical of the vast limestone planking of Sudoriental Sicily which is also our home. We are in the hinterland of the provinces of Syracuse and Ragusa: here, the olive trees of this variety grow spontaneously for millennia between vast plateaus and deep valleys. Secular plants are predominant and alternate with the new plants by dressing the hills together with pulleys, almonds and screws. Together with Moresca, another typical variety of this territory, the Round Hyblean dominates this territory and produces an oil with a balanced, rich and tasty, intense and persistent flavor, with an unmistakable hint of tomato and fresh grass.
