How the works of Kalat Ceramiche are made

Kalat Ceramiche's works are made exclusively by hand, according to a process that has been handed down to Caltagirone for centuries, giving life to a unique product of its kind.

• The clay is forged and modeled by hand, giving life to the different characteristic figures of the Moro heads;
• The object is then baked for the first cooking at a temperature of 970 degrees;
• In this phase the darkness of Moro is enamelled and decorated by hand by Maestri Calatini artisans;
• Moro's head is then subjected to a second cooking at a temperature of about 930 degrees that determine the process of ceramization and product vitrification;
• In the last phase the product can be embellished with precious metals (gold or platinum) and luscers followed by the third and last cooking.

Being a handcrafted product, colors and decoration they may vary slightly compared to the photo. 

The product is accompanied by Certificate of authenticity Kalat Ceramiche.
