Montenero - the first panettone of Fiasconaro

For his 70th birthday Fiasconaro presents the first real panettone created by them, the "Mannetto", and proposes it within a very elegant box that recalls the historic anniversary of Fiasconaro

This is a naturally leavened baked cake, characterized by an al Sicilian chocolate et al Cocoa, with essence of Sicilian lemons.

What makes it even tastier is the sachet of icing sugar to dust on top

Inside the package there is also a free duster for icing sugar.

A slow and gradual leavening, which naturally reaches completion within 36 hours, guarantees quality and fragrance to this baked product, in full respect of Sicilian confectionery traditions.

Ingredients

Flour wheat tender, butter, sugar, eggs fresh from free-range hens 11%, yolk from eggs fresh from free-range hens 5.9%, cocoa paste with Sicilian chocolate 5.2% (fat-reduced cocoa powder, sunflower oil, Sicilian chocolate 10% (cocoa mass, cane sugar. Min. cocoa 50%), cocoa paste, emulsifiers: lecithin soy, vanilla pods), natural yeast (flour wheat tender), lemon paste 3.5% (lemon zest, glucose-fructose syrup, sugar), Sicilian honey, invert sugar syrup, emulsifiers: mono and diglycerides of fatty acids; cocoa butter, milk skimmed powder, salt, vanilla, natural flavouring, lemon essential oil. Sachet of sugar (30g) (sugar, starch wheat, natural flavours). It can contain nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, pistachios), lupins, mustard.

That's the story of the Fiasconaro family 
of a family in love with its land, 
who with his desserts made people live and dream 
Sicily to millions of people around the world. 
A fairy tale that continues today 
against the background of the Madonie park 
and that from the heart of the medieval village 
of Castelbuono (PA) has arrived further 
60 countries, bringing its products even 
beyond the confines of space on board 
of NASA's Discovery Shuttle.
It all begins in 1953, when Mario creates 
the small ice cream shop in Piazza Margherita, 
remembered for the delicious citrus granitas 
made with ice from local snow farms, 
which soon gave life to the award-winning one 
family pastry shop. A real one 
laboratory of taste, symbol of haute cuisine 
pastry shop made in Sicily in Italy 
and in the world. 
But the real leap in quality arrives 
from Nicola's intuition, which during 
his travels in search of new techniques 
to tell his island through 
the pastry art, the idea of revisiting matures 
the classic iconic Milanese panettone 
–the “high” one– with some of the best 
traditional Sicilian ingredients, 
from pistachio to almonds, and of 
Madonie tradition, like manna. 
It's the turning point: Mannetto is born, the first 
Fiasconaro panettone made unique by its use 
of manna, the naturally sweet resin 
produced from Ash trees 
of the local area. The year is 1988, 
which inaugurates the production of panettone 
artisanal products from the Madonie company.
