Food in Sicily candied orange peels are covered with dark chocolate and produced using exclusively Sicilian oranges.
They are handcrafted with a process that requires twenty days to naturally reach the optimal level of candying. Once the candying process is finished, the candied orange peels come cut into strips and dipped half or two thirds in dark chocolate. Let the chocolate cool and solidify and our dark chocolate-covered peels are ready.
Note that the peels do not all have the exact same shape because the candied oranges come cut by hand and therefore there will be a natural slight difference in the shape of the strips. But this is the beauty of artisanal pastry art!
The peels are an artisanal product without preservatives and have an average shelf life of 2 months.
