Winner of Slow Wine award 2013, 2014 and 2015 and named as "best sustainable winemaker in Italy" by the star chef Carlo Cracco, Suber red wine has exceptional characteristics that make it unique.

From the cultivation of three native Sicilian vines – Nero d'Avola, Frappato, Alicante – born on Suber, a wine organic intense red in color and with a strong, complex and aromatically rich flavour.

The three vines combine with each other and contribute to giving body and character to the wine wine organic .

The Nero d'Avola contributes an aroma of red fruits, such as blackberries or mulberries; the Frappato adds a yellow peach aftertaste; theAlicante gives the Suber alcoholic strength and enriches it with a note of fragrant spices.

The wine Suber it pairs excellently with red meats and cheeses; interesting pairing with chocolate.

How Suber red wine is born

In the heart of Sicily, between the Gela plain and the Catania plain, lies the city of Caltagirone.

And it is in these lands that wine is born from native vines cultivated according to organic farming regulations Suber.

A wine with a strong flavor, a strong character but, at the same time, elegant.

Its properties are the result of the singular combination of territory and climatic conditions.

While traditional forms of vine cultivation, combined with high winemaking technology, allow us to obtain a wine of natural quality, with total respect for the environment and human work.

All this thanks also to the work of The Vigneri, personnel specialized in ancient sapling viticulture.

Winemaking

The organic wine Suber it is the result of careful research in the wine sector which combines traditional vine growing methods.

Planted, as was done in the past, as a sapling and worked with ancient tools and care.

In the silence of the forest, the rhythm of work in the vineyard is marked by the scissors during pruning, by the farmer's hoe and by the clatter of Gino's mule's hooves during plowing.

With absolute respect for nature and the surrounding forest, the vines are cultivated according to the cultivation regulations biological and worked manually.

The peculiar pedological composition of the territory - made up of sandy and Mediterranean soils of intense red color overlying sandy-arenaceous rocks - combined with the ventilated and dry climate, gives the grapes traits of harmonious richness and gustatory complexity.

Each single bottle contains the bunches of a single vine, while sapling cultivation, in addition to guaranteeing quality production, promotes a natural harmonization between the vineyard and the surrounding landscape.

After a natural winemaking process, without resorting to any clarification and filtration process, the Suber wine ages for 12 months in 225 and 500 liter barrels and is then bottled approximately 15 months after the harvest with refinement in the bottle for at least 6 months.
