How Kalat Ceramiche products are made
Kalat Ceramiche products are made exclusively by hand, according to a process that has been handed down in Caltagirone for centuries, giving life to a one-of-a-kind product.
The clay is forged and modeled by hand, giving life to the different characteristic figures of Caltagirone ceramics;
The object is then fired for the First Firing at a temperature of 970 degrees;
In this phase the object is enamelled and decorated by hand by Calatinian master craftsmen;
The object is then subjected to a Second Firing at a temperature of approximately 930 degrees which determines the process of ceramisation and vitrification of the product;
In the last phase the product can possibly be embellished with Precious Metals (Gold or Platinum) and Lusters followed by the Third and final firing.
Being a handcrafted product, colors and decorations may vary slightly from the photo.
The product is accompanied by Kalat Ceramiche certificate of authenticity.
